Background information:
In 1937 this building, along with a "sister property", was built to similar plans. As a clog factory, behind the house that stood on the corner of the street. Thus the clog factory was accessible via the side street. The need for clogs decreased, and the building was converted into a house.
Behind the original rear wall of the building, an extension of one storey was built around the '50s. Later including a bathroom and a toilet.
In addition to the rear half of the right-hand side wall, a similar expansion was introduced around 1980, which made the living room more spacious.
Architectural details:
Initially, the facade was provided with a very large entrance. The front window of the living room is now located on that location. The masonry underneath this window is different from the original, as some kind of scar.
In a recent renovation of 2015, the parquet floor was removed, which made the pitches of the clog factory machines of the old floor visible.
This renovation prepared the house for the current living requirements; among other things, all bakelite rotary switches have been replaced by modern switchgear.
