Background information:
Aesthetically and structurally, this house has strong similarities with the detached houses that were built in the 1960s and early 1970s. But the year this house was built is 1981. No surprise, knowing that the client had wanted to build his own house for years, but had to wait until all the puzzle pieces of life fit together properly. The house is located on a not too large plot in a medium-sized village. And both to the right and behind the plot, buildings of neighbors, such as a bakery, connect to the property boundaries. They lived there for over 40 years, with great pleasure. And the house has been in that family until the time of writing. Which does indicate that it must be a nice house.
Architectural details:
The house looks like a typical detached house from the 1960s or early 1970s. A saddle roof with dark concrete quick-cover tiles and sand-yellow Waal format bricks laid in a random pattern with simple straight roll layers above the facade openings. However, there are also a number of personal details to be seen. The double front door and perhaps especially its model reveal the year of construction of the early 1980s. And the fence along the roof terrace above the car garage is also a personal touch of the residents. The house is, as indicated, in a densely built-up part of a medium-sized village and the fence provides more privacy on the roof terrace. And support for various plants. Although that fence in particular is easy for the model builder to modify according to personal insights.
