More information

Background information:
Tilburg Reeshof station was built in the year 2000 on the Breda - Eindhoven line. The line from Breda to Tilburg has been there since 1863, but Reeshof station is the newest stop on this line and is there to open up the Reeshof district. A district that has grown from Tilburg in a westerly direction since 1980 and has extended beyond the current station of the same name since 2000. The more than 40,000 residents of the district have a place with the station where they can get on and off the former local train, now sprinters.

Architectural details:
It actually consists of a platform along each of the two tracks of the main line. In that respect, effective in simplicity. Furthermore, the sound of the trains has also been taken into account in the architecture. The line is heavily used, so there are glass walls along the length of the station, which overlap each other to a certain extent. And along the platform edge, clearly recognizable sound-absorbing elements have been applied. Along other parts of the line, there are specially designed buildings that should stop the noise. Furthermore, the station has a 50-meter-long canopy on each side of the track, supported by steel box profiles, against which the glass walls are attached. The roofs are beautifully finished on the underside with wooden panels. The north and south sides of the station are identical in principle, but mirrored to each other (over the line of the track). On the north side, the height of the ground level of the square varies, which is why there are some differences in detail in reality. Changes have also been made over time. The elevators to the traffic tunnel were not there in the beginning. And the ramp has also been doubled in length, especially on the south side, so that it is less steep, but now has a 180 degree bend and other railings have been installed.

Markenburg has taken the original design, from around 2000, as an example for the model.
Reeshof station comes with the underlying platform, which has been prepared to connect Type A side platforms.
