Background information:
This type of station is, as far as known, only built in the village Rijen (near the village Gilze) around 1920. The stationmaster lived in the building, but of course all traveler related functions which were considered necessary in villages in those days were there. Meanwhile, the building is no longer in use as a station, but it still adorns along the railway Tilburg - Breda.
Architectural details:
The station is constructed of masonry bond walls.Only the small chimneys are carried in stretcher bond.Above the windows are relatively simple lintel areas, but there are several wall sections deepened performed.In some places, there is also ornamental masonry, for example used in the form of a decorative soldier course at about knee level.The station is equipped with Hollandse roftiles and has a gutter with a fascia. The scale model has eleven separate light compartments.
