Background information:
Between 1618 and 1621 built by T. P. Cruyff. In 1948 the house was in a pitiful state, as many buildings in that time. This property in Edam has become a national monument, renovated in 1951, after restauration drawings were made by National Heritage in 1948. The large-scale renovation has around 1950 ensured the preservation of the property. In 1981 the interior was modernized again. In the 19th century there was also a barn behind this house. Which has long since disappeared. Nowadays on that spot there is a bike shop located in a new detached building.
Architectural details:
Our model is based on those 1948 drawings and thus the situation of the late '40s. During the renovation the plaster layer of the outer walls has been removed. The smooth facade line is restored to the original stepped gable. The tile plateau of the fire place in the 1:1 property presents an image of the original façade. Judging from the rooftops one knows how the property has increased, by building a new section every now and then.
