Background information:
Concrete dock boards, also known under the brand name Stelcon boards, are common in the industrial environment. They are particularly suitable for a fast hardening of large surfaces and also are suitable for temporary and variable situations. Therefore the concrete dock boards are common in, for example port areas, "temporary" roads between and around the railroad tracks and on industrial sites. Especially when there is a lot of maneuvering freight traffic.
Architectural details
Concrete dock boards have dimensions of two by two meters, where they are almost always carried out with two characteristic lifting eyes amid the concrete surface. The type of board that was the inspiration for the Markenburg dock boards, was also provided with a metal corner profile, which provides an extra reinforced edge. These corner sections are going to get a rusty brown color because they are fully exposed to the weather.
