Background information:
These fences, better described as boundary fences, are modeled on the more luxurious backyard fence. In the Netherlands, these fences are regularly found in the backyards of somewhat more expensive homes. They offer a high degree of privacy, last a very long time with little maintenance. Because of the masonry and the robust foundation required (this type of boundary fence catches a lot of wind due to the dense overlapping panels), these boundary fences are quite expensive.
Both in reality and in Markenburg, there are variants with and without a gate on these boundary fences. The color of the gate frame is usually in contrast to the wood color for aesthetic reasons. This is also taken into account at Markenburg.
